Job summary

McLaren Health Care is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to decontaminate, sterilize, assemble and wrap instrument trays, and uphold safety and infection-control standards in the sterile processing area. You will monitor wash solutions, sort mismatched sets, restock inventory, and assist with environmental maintenance and equipment checks in the sterile processing department and operating room.

Qualifications include a high school diploma and completion of an approved sterile processing

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of approved sterile processing course and certification as a sterile processing technician by CBSPD or HSPA.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminates and sterilizes instruments and equipment and assembles/wraps trays.
• Monitors wash solution quality for decontamination processes.
• Sorts mismatched instrument sets and makes them available promptly.
• Restocks, labels, and maintains inventory; submits requisitions.
• Performs environmental maintenance and assists in inventory in SP, OR, and storage areas.
• Verifies equipment functions properly and coordinates maintenance/replacement.
• Supports departmental policies, safety, infection control and quality standards.
• Performs other related duties as required.
