Job summary

Baptist Health Downtown is seeking an Equipment Materials Instrument Technician to support the CVOR/Neuro sterile processing team. You will coordinate sterilization workflows, ensure accuracy of instrument trays, and prepare cases for surgical procedures.

This full-time daytime role runs Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm, located at Downtown in the Main Building. Candidates typically have 1–2 years in instrument handling and surgical instrumentation, with CRCST certification preferred.

Qualifications

High School Diploma is required.
CRCST certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

Coordinate sterilization processes from cleaning to packaging, sterilization, and distribution.
Ensure quality and contents of instrument trays meet surgical needs.
Supervise case cart, SPD, and Core operations; develop instrument trays for surgeries.
Handle daily processing of case cart supplies and instruments.
Coordinate with vendors to ensure trays are complete and sterilized.
Collaborate with OR staff regarding instruments and supplies.
Participate in departmental planning and committees; engage in ongoing education.
Maintain compliance with safety standards and hospital policies.
Manage vendor adherence to established practices, including inventory reviews, payment practices, and contract adherence.
