Job summary

Sterile Processing Technician (Certified) Varied Per Diem Days

The Sterile Processing Department (SPD) Technician is responsible for the decontamination, inspection, assembly, sterilization, storage, and distribution of surgical instruments, medical equipment, and supplies to support safe patient care and efficient clinical operations. This role ensures compliance with infection prevention standards, regulatory requirements, and hospital policies to maintain a safe and sterile environment for all procedural areas.

The SPD Technician is responsible for the decontamination, inspection, assembly, sterilization, storage, and distribution of surgical instruments, medical equipment, and supplies to support safe patient care and efficient clinical operations.

Qualifications

Education Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED required.

Experience:

• One year of experience in sterile processing, central service in a hospital environment.
• CRCST, CSPDT, or CBSPD certification required within one year of employment.

License / Certification:
