Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of SPS Technician program or related surgical tech program.
• On-the-job training in hospital setting acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Receives, processes and sterilizes instrument trays and supplies.

• Operates equipment and computer systems; inventories and restocks supplies.

Job Purpose

• Receives fills and delivers supply orders, processes and sterilizes instruments trays. Cleans and inspects patient equipment, gathers instruments and supplies for surgical case carts. Operates equipment as well as some computer systems, inventories and restocks departmental supplies and special carts.

Job Requirements :

Education :

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Graduate of an approved Sterile Processing Technician Program Or
• Surgical Technologist Program Or
• On the job training in a hospital based training program

Licenses and/or Certifications :

• Certification by HSPA (formerly IAHCSMM) or CBSPD
