Location: 55 Fogg Road, Weymouth, MA 02190.
Shift: Evening (Mon‑Fri 3:00pm‑11:30pm) with rotating weekend and holiday work.

Title: Sterile Processing Technician
Full‑time, 40 hours per week. Compensation: $21.21 – $28.55 per hour.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Perform and document all aspects of sterilization, including:
  • Sorting items by mode of sterilization and choosing appropriate wrapping, sealing tape, and chemical indicators.
  • Loading and logging on the load record sheet, stamping with control stickers, and verifying machine printouts for cycle completion.
  • Completing Bowie‑Dick testing, diagnostic tests on sterilizer systems, and biological tests on steam autoclaves.
  • Recording results accurately and notifying appropriate personnel of failures or positive tests.
• Assemble, inspect, and wrap instrument kits with correct count sheets, chemical indicators, and labeling, ensuring cleanliness and proper function.
• Operate decontamination stations in compliance with CDC mandates, including proper use of protective gear, dirty lift handling, and instrument sorting by immersability and sensitivity.
• Manage case cart operations: generate pick lists, fill carts, record add‑on cases, and ship carts to the OR on time.
• Maintain inventory levels of supplies, rotating stock, and recording orders as needed.
• Utilize technology such as Lotus Notes, OR Manager, TimePC, and Meditech to complete assignments and maintain procedural knowledge.
• Demonstrate safety awareness: complete mandatory safety training, apply CDC universal precautions, use PPE appropriately, and dispose of biohazard waste following infection‑control guidelines.
• Prioritize and adjust workflow to meet urgent needs and communicate status updates to requestors.
• Commit to ongoing learning, adopting new technologies and procedures to improve effectiveness.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum Education: High School diploma (preferred).
• Work Experience: 6months to 1year in Central Services and Supplies or related fields (preferred).
• Knowledge & Skills:
  • Familiarity with surgical instrumentation, case cart assembly, and aseptic technique.
  • Basic computer proficiency and excellent customer‑service communication.
• Certification: Must obtain CRCST certification within 24months of hire.
• Training Schedule: First 8weeks on day shift 08:00‑16:30; thereafter evening shift as described.
• Work Hours: Monday‑Friday 1500‑2330 with rotating weekend/holiday shifts; bi‑weekly hours 80.
