Job summary

Chestnut Surgery Center in Fresno, CA is hiring a full-time Sterile Processing Technician affiliated with Urology Associates of Central California. The role supports 300+ cases per month across urology and ophthalmology in a focused, ASC environment.

You will decontaminate and sterilize instruments, prepare trays, operate sterilizers, and maintain compliance logs in a high-volume surgical setting with daytime hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prefer at least 1 year of sterile processing experience in a hospital or ASC setting.
• Comfort working with delicate microsurgical instrumentation.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to keep pace in a high-volume surgical schedule.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, inspect, assemble, and sterilize surgical instrumentation for urology and ophthalmology cases.
• Prepare and package instrument trays according to physician preference cards and count sheets.
• Operate and monitor steam and low-temperature sterilization equipment, including biological and chemical indicator testing.
• Maintain sterilization logs and instrument tracking documentation for AAAHC compliance.
• Coordinate tray turnover to keep pace with same-day case scheduling.
• Assist with operating and procedure room turnover between cases, including removal of used supplies and instrumentation and restocking of sterile trays, to support timely case starts.
