Job summary

vTech Solution is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician for a 13-week assignment in a Level II Trauma Center in Everett, WA. The role involves decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instruments in a high-volume surgical setting.

The technician will work five 8-hour evening shifts, 2:00pm to 10:30pm, with rotating weekends and mandatory orientation. Travel between units and campuses is required; on-site work only. CBSPD/IAHCSMM/HSPA certified candidates preferred.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in sterile processing.
  • Certification in Sterile Processing from CBSPD or IAHCSMM/HSPA.
  • Strong knowledge of surgical supplies and case picking.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills.

  • Adhere to infection control policies and safety protocols.
  • Float between like units and campuses as needed to support operations.
  • Participate in orientation and training as scheduled.

Job Summary:

The Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) is responsible for the decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instruments and supplies in a Level II Trauma Center. This role supports surgical services by ensuring all sterile supplies are properly processed and ready for use in a fast-paced, high-volume surgical environment. The SPT works collaboratively with the surgical and sterile processing teams to maintain quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Decontaminate, clean, and inspect surgical instruments and equipment.
  • Assemble surgical trays and sets according to procedure requirements.
  • Operate sterilization equipment and ensure proper sterilization processes.

Required Skills & Certifications:

Preferred Skills & Certifications:
  • Experience working in a high-volume trauma center or similar surgical environment.
  • Familiarity with multiple surgical specialties including Neuro, Ortho, Robotics, Pediatrics, Urology, General, and GYN.
  • Experience using EPIC charting system.
Special Considerations:
  • Must work rotating weekends as part of the schedule.
  • No on-call requirements.
  • Floating between units and campuses is required.
  • Scrub color restrictions apply (any except reddish orange).
  • Position is for a 13-week assignment with guaranteed 72 hours per 2 weeks, with possible call-offs of one shift per pay period.
  • Local candidates are not accepted; first-time travelers with required experience are welcome.
Scheduling:
  • Five 8-hour evening shifts per week, 2:00pm to 10:30pm.
  • Orientation schedule includes varied day shifts before transitioning to evening shifts.
  • Weekend rotation required.
