Job description

Step into a vital support role as a Central Sterile Processing Technician, where your attention to detail and commitment to safety help keep patients and clinical teams safe every day. In this fast‑paced environment, you’ll be responsible for cleaning and decontaminating medical equipment and instruments, preparing sterile trays, operating sterilization equipment, and ensuring all items are ready for use. You’ll help maintain clean and organized department spaces, assist with deliveries, answer phones, and support the team by participating in training and in‑service programs. Responsibilities

• Clean and decontaminate medical equipment and instruments.
• Prepare sterile procedure trays and equipment.
• Operate steam, low temperature sterilizers, and other sterilization equipment.
• Maintain sterile/clean storage areas and other department areas.
• Answer phone and service door.
• Deliver requested items.
• Complete required documentation of activities.
• Maintain standards of the organization’s mission, goals, and safety behaviors.
• Assist in training and in‑service programs for staff and students.
• Represent the CSP department positively and professionally at all times.

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Completion of a course from an accredited central service technician training (preferred).

Experience

• One year of sterile processing experience (preferred).

Certification/Licensure

• None required.
