Job summary

VA Portland Health Care System is seeking a GS-07 Medical Supply Technician (Sterile Processing) to serve as an RME Coordinator in a multi-site care system based in Portland, Oregon. The role focuses on oversight of critical and semi-critical medical devices within the RME Program and ensuring SOPs are developed and communicated across staff.

Qualifications

• Six months of experience that demonstrates the applicant's ability to perform the work.
• One year above high school that included at least 6 semester hours in health care related courses.
• Experience/Education Combination is qualifying for entry level.

Responsibilities

• The RME Coordinator provides oversight in the development, implementation, coordination, maintenance and evaluation of critical and semi-critical medical devices within the RME Program.
• Reviews the acquisition of new equipment and advises using services of anticipated delivery dates; coordinates across services to ensure SOPs are developed and communicated to staff.
• Monitors, analyzes and provides consultation on infection control issues regarding RME.
