Job summary

UCHealth University of Colorado Health in Aurora, CO has an opening for a Sterile Processing Supervisor to lead an assigned area within the Anchutz Inpatient Pavilion. This onsite role focuses on departmental policy development, productivity and quality management.

The position requires a High School diploma or GED, CSPDT or CRCST certification (with preferred CHL/CIS/CER options), and at least two years of sterile processing experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; Medical Terminology course preferred.
• Certified as CSPDT or CRCST. Preferred: CHL, CIS or CER by HSPA/CBSPD or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of sterile processing experience.

Responsibilities

• Assists with the development, implementation, and evaluation of departmental policies and procedures.
• Provides mentoring, monitoring, coaching, and evaluation of team members' performance, especially in productivity and quality management.
• Assists with coordinating services, prioritizing assignments and workflow, and promoting situational decision-making and problem solving.

Location:UCHealth Anschutz Inpatient Pavilion, Aurora, CO.

Department:Sterile Processing AIP

Work Schedule:Full Time, 80.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)

Shift:Days

Pay:$24.11 - $36.17 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience

This position is an onsite role and does not offer a hybrid or remote option

Summary:
Leads team members of anassigned areaor function bydemonstrating and providingadvanced knowledge of job responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

• Assists with the development, implementation, and evaluation of departmental policies and procedures.


• Provides mentoring, monitoring,coaching, and evaluation ofteam members'performance, especially in the areas of productivity and quality management.Serves as a positive role model for team members by working with them to promote teamwork and cooperation.


• Assists withcoordinating services,prioritizing assignments and workflow,and promoting situational decision-making/problem solving. Assist team with ordering of supplies for the department and monitoring of staff production and quality metrics.


• Performs responsibilities of underlying job. Takes responsibility for, or provides guidance to team members on, the handling of complex or novel issues.


• Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED. Preferred: Medical Terminology course.


• Certified as a CSPDT (Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician) or CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician). Preferred: 1 of the following additional certifications: Certified Healthcare Leader (CHL)or Certified Instrument Specialist (CIS)or Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER) by the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) or Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) equivalent.


• 2 years of sterile processing experience.
