Job summary

Larkin Health in Hialeah, FL is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician (SPD/CSR Tech) to decontaminate, inspect, assemble, sterilize, store, and distribute surgical instruments and supplies across the hospital.

The ideal candidate will have formal sterile processing training, CRCST or CSPDT certification, experience in sterile processing or OR support, and strong attention to detail to ensure patient safety.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of sterile processing and infection prevention principles.
• Knowledge of surgical instrumentation and basic surgical terminology.
• Understanding of decontamination, disinfection, sterilization, and sterile storage procedures.
• Knowledge of steam sterilization and other sterilization methods used within the facility.
• Ability to identify and properly assemble surgical instruments and instrument sets.
• Ability to follow manufacturers' Instructions for Use (IFUs).
• Understanding of sterilization monitoring, including mechanical, chemical, and biological indicators.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, inspect, assemble, sterilize, store, and distribute surgical instruments, trays, equipment, and supplies.
• Ensure instrumentation and equipment are available and ready for use in accordance with hospital policies and IFUs.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of processing activities.
• Work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment and collaborate with Surgical Services and other departments.
