Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Sterile Processing Tech to support the operating room by cleaning, sterilizing and distributing medical instruments according to strict aseptic procedures. Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required with ability to obtain GED within 1 year of start date.
• Sterile processing certification (CBSPD or IAHCSMM) within 2 years of start date.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Cleans, disinfects, decontaminates and sterilizes medical instruments and equipment.
• Receives, stocks, packages and distributes medical instruments and equipment.
• Performs and documents required quality assurance testing and inspection on stock.
• Inventories and reorders supplies.
• Disassembles, decontaminates, assembles, sterilizes and stores instrument trays and equipment.
