Job summary

Cedars-Sinai Marina del Rey Hospital seeks a dedicated Sterile Processing Tech (SPD) to decontaminate, clean, process, and sterilize supplies and equipment in accordance with Infection Control Practices.

Shifts are 8-hour, with variable start times, and the candidate should possess a minimum of one year of Central Service Technician or Surgical Tech experience and knowledge of medical terminology and sterilization techniques.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of medical terminology and nomenclature of items and equipment used by the department (required).
• Cleaning and sterilization procedures and techniques (required).
• Must be conscientious with regard to procedures, and capable of working under pressure and interacting professionally with other departments within the hospital.
• Able to accept new ideas and learn position duties.
• Participate in the department's performance improvement activities.

Responsibilities

• The Sterile Processing Tech (SPD) is responsible for decontamination, cleaning, processing, and sterilization of supplies, and equipment dispensed by the department following established Infection Control Practices.
