City of Hope is hiring a Sterile Processing Technician II for the Operating Room evenings. The role involves decontamination, assembly, sterilization and distribution of surgical instruments, including endoscopes, with emphasis on infection prevention and regulatory compliance.

Successful candidates have at least 3 years of sterile processing experience in acute care, and hold CRCST or CSPDT credentials. Sign-on bonus is available; evenings schedule runs 1300–2130 or 1500–2330, with on-call

Competenze

• Post High School Vocational/Specialized Training; experience may substitute for minimum education requirements.
• A minimum of 3 years sterile processing experience in an acute care setting. Previous experience in central supply sterile processing operations. Knowledge of instrumentation and sterilization, and case cart systems and instrument tracking systems.
• Maintain knowledge in surgical and medical technology through in-services/courses.
• CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) or CSPDT (Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician).
• BLS (American Heart Association).

Mansioni

• Maintain Infection prevention and control practices.
• Put to use sterilization methods: steam, low-temp and high-level disinfection equipment according to established policies, procedures and IFU's.
• Maintain an adequate supply for Sterile Processing to meet area needs including inventory control, proper labeling, and labeling of packages.
• Maintain sterilization and high-level disinfection documentation related to items processed in accordance with regulatory standards and hospital policies.
• Be responsible for reporting processing errors, faulty equipment and deficiencies in procedures.
• Participates in educational programs and in-service meetings.
