Job Description: The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for the decontamination, inspection, assembly, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instruments and medical equipment to support safe and efficient patient care. This role ensures all instruments and supplies are cleaned, disinfected, assembled, and sterilized according to manufacturer guidelines, regulatory standards, and departmental procedures. Responsibilities include operating and troubleshooting sterilization and cleaning equipment, maintaining accurate documentation and quality assurance records, managing inventory and supply distribution, and responding promptly to the needs of surgical and procedural departments. In Endoscopy settings, the technician may also assist with procedure room turnover, equipment management, and patient care activities under the supervision of a registered nurse. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong attention to detail, excellent customer service skills, a commitment to quality and safety, and the ability to contribute to positive patient outcomes through effective sterile processing practices and responsible resource management.
