Job summary

Yale NewHaven Health is seeking qualified personnel to perform cleaning, decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and distribution of medical/surgical linens and instrument sets for patient care. The role requires attention to detail, adherence to aseptic technique, and ability to document handling of supplies.

Experience in a medical setting is preferred but not essential; completion of basic math and high school education is required. Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school education required.
• Basic math skills required.

Responsibilities

• Inspects, folds, assembles, wraps, and labels reusable linens for sterilization.
• Performs cleaning and decontamination procedures on general instrumentation and equipment.
• Transports supplies/equipment to/from user areas observing aseptic technique.
• Maintains clean work area and replenishes supplies as needed.
• Performs terminal sterilization by steam/EO/gas/plasma/dry heat following procedures.
• Assembles instrument sets and surgical trays with correct labels and documentation.
