Job summary

Texas Orthopedic Hospital is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician for PRN roles to ensure instruments are cleaned, sterilized, and ready for surgeries. The role emphasizes safety, attention to detail, and close collaboration with nurses and surgeons in a high-volume orthopedic setting.

Responsibilities include sterilization cycle monitoring, tray preparation, and proper handling of biohazardous materials. Certification within 2 years of start date is required or pursued upon hire.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate / GED required.
• (CRCST) Certified Registered Central Service Technician, or (CSPDT) Cert Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician must be obtained within 2 years of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning, disinfecting, sterilizing, and organizing surgical instruments and supplies following safety standards
• Monitoring sterilization cycles, documenting results, and resolving issues promptly to deliver on our commitment to safe, high-quality care
• Preparing and organizing instrument trays and surgical rooms based on the daily schedule and procedural needs
• Safely handling and disposing of biohazardous materials while keeping the work area clean and organized
• Working closely with nurses and surgeons to anticipate needs and support smooth, efficient surgeries
