Job summary

Virtua Health in South Jersey is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to support the operating rooms, labor & delivery, and bedside areas. You will clean, decontaminate, sterilize and distribute surgical instruments and equipment prepared for patient care.

This on-site, full-time role covers a 3rd shift (40 hours weekly) with an hourly rate of $21.85–$32.83; CRCST/CBSPD certification must be obtained within 6 months of employment, and a high school diploma or GED is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in sterile processing is preferred.
• Must complete a sterile processing course or CRCST program.
• CRCST/CBSPD certification required within 6 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, inspects and assembles surgical instruments and endoscopes for sterilization.
• Collects and cleans patient care equipment and surgical instruments from OR, L&D and other areas.
• Assists in orientation and training of new hires.
• Operates, monitors and documents results of decontamination and sterilization equipment.
• Delivers clean and sterile equipment and supplies to the OR and other units.
• Transports soiled and sterile instrumentation between facilities.
