Baylor Scott & White Health in Texas is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician 1 to join our hospital operations. You will clean, sterilize, organize, and distribute patient equipment and supplies across departments.

The role emphasizes following safety and infection control practices, maintaining inventory, and supporting patient care teams. Experience is less than 1 year; HS diploma required; benefits and PTO provided.

Responsabilités

• Prepares rooms and organizes instruments, equipment, treatment trays and supplies for specified departments.
• Cleans and decontaminates instruments using detergents and disinfectants; follows sterilization procedures.
• Receives, stocks, rotates, and checks goods; pulls expired items and distributes internal orders.
• Maintains inventory and records; ensures accuracy of files and logs.
• Ensures compliance with safety, environmental, manufacturer and infection control practices.

Job Summary

The Sterile Processing Technician 1 cleans, sterilizes, processes, organizes, and distributes patient equipment, instruments, supplies, and products.

Essential Functions Of The Role

• Prepares rooms and organizes instruments, equipment, treatment trays and supplies for specified departments.
• Cleans and decontaminates instruments, containers, and patient equipment using detergents and disinfectants. Follows regulatory and hospital policies and procedures. Operates semi-automatic and automatic sterilization equipment and washers.
• Receives, stocks, rotates, and checks goods. Pulls expired goods. Fills and distributes internal orders. Picks up reusable trays, equipment, and instruments.
• Maintains and controls inventory. Maintains applicable records and files.
• Ensures compliance with safety, environmental, manufacturer and infection control practices.

Key Success Factors

• Knowledge of equipment and instrument sterilization methods and procedures preferred.
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
• Relational skills to interact with patients and staff.
