Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking an entry-level Sterile Processing Technician 1 to support patient care by sterilizing, organizing and distributing equipment and supplies. The role emphasizes adherence to safety and infection control standards in a hospital environment.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED and less than one year of experience. Responsibilities cover room preparation, instrument decontamination, inventory management, and maintaining compliance with regulatory

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepares rooms and organizes instruments, equipment, treatment trays and supplies for specified departments.
• Cleans and decontaminates instruments, containers, and patient equipment using detergents and disinfectants. Follows regulatory and hospital policies and procedures. Operates semi-automatic and automatic sterilization equipment and washers.
• Receives, stocks, rotates, and checks goods. Pulls expired goods. Fills and distributes internal orders. Picks up reusable trays, equipment, and instruments.
• Maintains and controls inventory. Maintains applicable records and files.
• Ensures compliance with safety, environmental, manufacturer and infection control practices.
