Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health in Texas seeks a Sterile Processing Technician 1 to clean, sterilize, process, organize, and distribute patient equipment, instruments, supplies and products.

The role supports operating rooms and other departments in a hospital setting, emphasizing safety and infection control. HS diploma or GED and less than 1 year of experience are typical requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepares rooms and organizes instruments, equipment, treatment trays and supplies for specified departments.
• Cleans and decontaminates instruments, containers, and patient equipment using detergents and disinfectants. Follows regulatory and hospital policies and procedures. Operates semi-automatic and automatic sterilization equipment and washers.
• Receives, stocks, rotates, and checks goods. Pulls expired goods. Fills and distributes internal orders. Picks up reusable trays, equipment, and instruments.
• Maintains and controls inventory. Maintains applicable records and files.
• Ensures compliance with safety, environmental, manufacturer and infection control practices.
