Job summary

HCA Healthcare is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to ensure instruments are cleaned, sterilized, and ready for surgical cases at our Jacksonville location.

You will maintain safety standards, support nurses and surgeons, and handle biohazardous materials in a fast-paced environment. Training in aseptic technique and sterile processing is required, along with BCLS and Central Processing Certifications.

Qualifications

• Training in basic aseptic technique and sterile processing.
• One year experience in surgical instrument sterilization processing, preferably in an acute care or ambulatory surgery center environment.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning, disinfecting, sterilizing, and organizing surgical instruments and supplies following safety standards.
• Monitoring sterilization cycles, documenting results, and resolving issues promptly to deliver on our commitment to safe, high-quality care.
• Preparing and organizing instrument trays and surgical rooms based on the daily schedule and procedural needs.
• Safely handling and disposing of biohazardous materials while keeping the work area clean and organized.
• Working closely with nurses and surgeons to anticipate needs and support smooth, efficient surgeries.

As a Sterile Processing Technician, you'll play a critical role in delivering safe, high-quality surgical care by making sure every instrument is thoroughly cleaned, sterilized, and ready when needed. Your responsibilities will include:

• Cleaning, disinfecting, sterilizing, and organizing surgical instruments and supplies following safety standards

What qualifications you will need:

• Valid BCLS Certification upon employment***online certification not acceptable
• Certification in Central Processing as per facility and state regulatory requirements
