Job summary

Vail Health, located in Dillon, Colorado, seeks a Sterile Processing professional to ensure safe turnover and sterile processing of instruments. You will precept new staff and comply with organization-wide sterile processing standards to protect patient safety.

The role emphasizes efficient instrument turnover, adherence to procedures, and ongoing education to support high-quality care within our mountain healthcare system.

Qualifications

• Must possess or obtain within 90 days computer skills for online learning, access to online forms and policies.
• Must be HIPAA compliant and able to read, write, and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning, inspections, and sterilization techniques based on established standards of practice for S.P.C.
• Maintain instrument sets to ensure cleanliness, completeness, proper function and sterility.
• Maintain knowledge of instrument sets, configurations, and supplies.
• Document sterilization processes in log books.
• Use supplies and liners efficiently to support quality care and cost control.
• Share knowledge as a preceptor to new employees and seek education opportunities.
• Participate in plans to improve teamwork or resolve conflicts.
• Provide excellent customer service and represent VVMC patients as a team member.
• Model a Just Culture and organizational values.
• Perform other duties as assigned; comply with HIPAA.

About The Opportunity

To adhere to polices and sterile processing procedures set forth by the organization to prevent the spread of communicable diseases. To ensure the effective and efficient turnover processing of instruments to maintain patient safety at all times. To act as a preceptor to new employees.

What You Will Do

• Perform cleaning, inspections, and sterilization techniques based on established standards of practice for S.P.C.
• Maintain all instrument sets to ensure that instruments are clean, complete, function correctly, and are sterile.
• Maintain working knowledge of the instrument sets, configuration, and supplies.
• Responsible for the documentation of sterilization processes in all log books.
• Carefully and efficiently uses supplies and liners to facilitate quality care and cost efficiency.
• Seek additional education opportunities within and outside the hospital setting and share knowledge by serving as a preceptor to new employees.
• Participate in implementation of plans to improve teamwork or to resolve conflict.
• Provide excellent customer service, work as a team, and be an advocate to VVMC patients.
• Models a Just Culture and Organizational Values.
• Perform other duties as assigned. Must be HIPAA compliant.

Pay is based upon relevant education and experience per hour.

Hourly Pay:: $23.40 USD - $29.48 USD
