Job summary

The University of Miami, Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, is seeking a full-time Supervisor, Central Processing, in Miami, Florida. The role oversees decontamination, cleaning, assembling, packaging, sterilization, storage and distribution of reusable surgical instruments, and supervises staff to ensure compliance with regulations.

This leadership position requires strong training, performance management, and teamwork to support the operating room and other departments.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent/relevant experience, certification or license.
• Experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant experience required.
• Certification and Licensing: Central Sterile Processing Technician (CRCST) Knowledge

Responsibilities

• Oversees decontamination, cleaning, assembling, packaging, and sterilization of reusable surgical instruments.
• Manages storage and distribution of sterile equipment to surgical areas.
• Supervises staff, provides orientation and ongoing education, and enforces department policies.
