Job summary

University of Miami is seeking a Supervisor for Central Sterile Processing to oversee decontamination, cleaning, assembling, packaging, sterilization, storage, and distribution of reusable surgical instrumentation.

You will lead a team, ensure compliance with accrediting and licensing requirements, and collaborate with the operating rooms and other departments to maintain high quality and efficiency in sterile processing.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent/relevant experience, certification or license.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience required.
• Ability to set performance goals, provide feedback, conduct evaluations, and delegate tasks.
• Experience in training and developing staff and building a cohesive team.

Responsibilities

• Supervise decontamination, cleaning, assembling and packaging of instruments.
• Direct sterilization, storage and distribution of reusable surgical equipment.
• Staff development, orientation and continuing education programs.
• Develop and implement departmental policies and procedures.
• Ensure supplies and equipment are maintained and available.
• Collaborate with operating room and other departments for quality and compliance.
• Recommend quality and performance improvement initiatives.
• Monitor internal controls and adherence to university policies.
