Job summary

• One year of related work experience in operating room or central services preferred.
• Demonstrates attainment of requisite job knowledge and abilities.
• Certification and registration in central service or sterile processing is expected within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Perform decontamination, prep and pack, sterilization, and dispatch of instruments with accuracy.
• Ensure instrument sets are properly assembled and wrapped for sterilization.
• Inspect and repair broken instruments and sharpen dull ones as needed.
• Follow department, manufacturer, and OSHA standards during processing.
• Maintain infection control practices to ensure patient safety.
