Job summary

Doctors Hospital of Laredo in Laredo, TX, is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to manage the complete reprocessing cycle for surgical instrumentation. You will operate ultrasonic cleaners, washers, and sterilizers, and ensure quality monitoring and documentation.

Responsibilities include preparing case carts, assisting with inventory, and mentoring new SPD staff while upholding excellence and customer service standards.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• CRCST certification through IAHCSMM is required and must be maintained.
• Twelve months minimum in Sterile Processing.
• Proficient in spoken and written English.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
• Ability to perform heavy lifting (>50 pounds) and sustained labor.

Responsibilities

• Manage the reprocessing cycle for surgical instrumentation from disassembly to sterilization.
• Operate ultrasonic cleaners, washers, sterilizers and related equipment.
• Complete quality monitoring and documentation.
• Assist with supply inventory management and prepare case carts for surgery.
• Mentor and train new Sterile Processing Technicians.
