Description:Responsible for performing sterilization procedures on medical instruments and equipment in accordance with established procedures.Adheres to infection control standards.Follows industry standards and recommended practices on sterilization.Meets regulatory requirements.Processes specialty and general instruments.Resets instrument sets without error.Decontaminates instruments and equipment according to procedure.Maintains stock levels in the Central Sterile Department.Prepares and assembles surgical trays and equipment following established tray listings for issue, storage, or further processing.Communicates instrument repair needs to the supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Knowledge of case cart assembly.Familiarity with the regulatory standards of materials management.Conducts tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
