Job summary

Medical City Denton is seeking a Certified Sterile Processing Technician for a Seasonal PRN role. You will ensure instruments and supplies are clean, sterilized, labeled, and ready for use, supporting surgical teams during the 32‑week program from Sept 20, 2026 to Apr 3, 2027.

Responsibilities include cleaning, inspecting, assembling, sterilizing instruments, managing sterilization equipment, preparing customized sets, and helping maintain inventory.

Qualifications

• 1 year acute care experience required.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support within 30 days of start date.
• CRCST or CSPDT certification required.

• Managing sterilization equipment and keeping accurate records to support patient safety and infection prevention.

• Managing inventory and supplies in OR storage and specialty lockers, working with the surgical team to meet needs and keep operations running smoothly.
• Responding quickly to instrument requests during surgeries and helping solve urgent equipment needs.

Seasonal PRN

Program runs from September 20, 2026 to April 3, 2027

Program Requirements:

• Within a close geography, you may be asked to float to another facility that has an emergent staffing need.
• Four (4) weekend shifts are required each 4 week schedule period.
• During the course of the 32-week period, the employee is required to work two (2) holiday shifts (defined by Department Manager or designee).
• Seasonal Staff are PRN status employees and are subject to first call-off. There are no guaranteed hours by the hospital.
• Seasonal Staff will not be eligible for extra shift bonuses (D1/CND or D2/ECD)
• Registered Nurses who are in the Seasonal program will have one opportunity to pass the clinical competency evaluation.
• Current FT/PT & PRN employees are not eligible to join the Seasonal program for 2026--27 with the exception of RNs that participated in the Seasonal program in the previous year.
• Current employees of HWS are not eligible for the seasonal program.
• Shifts may vary based on the needs of the department.

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• (CRCST) Certified Registered Central Service Technician, or (CSPDT) Cert Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician
