Job summary

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of standards of infection control.
• Six months of related experience preferred.
• Certified Central Service Technician or ability to become certified within one year of hire, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sorts, disassembles, and cleans surgical instruments and equipment. Prepares and sterilizes instruments using standard procedures.
• Operates and maintains washing and sterilization equipment per procedures; reports malfunctions to the manager.
• Performs quality control on instruments and scopes, checks for damage, cleanliness and condition; maintains inventory and requests repairs as needed.
• Maintains documentation of inventory and daily production/quality control.
• Collaborates with healthcare professionals to ensure sterile instruments/equipment are available when needed.
• Maintains clean, organized, safe work areas; assists in training and orientation of co-workers.
