Job summary

Page Mechanical Group, Inc. is seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our Texas facility. You will perform compounding, data entry, and prescription processing while maintaining strict safety and inventory standards.

The role requires interaction with patients and prescribers, and adherence to company procedures. Candidates must be a Texas-registered CPhT with a GED, and be proficient in Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

  • Requires Certified Pharmacy Technician and registration with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, procedures and manuals.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office; training for onsite compounding software provided.

Responsibilities

  • Mixes compounded preparations and fills bottles with prescribed products.
  • Assists patients and prescribers, answering phones and communicating effectively.
  • Accesses patient information electronically and manually.
  • Maintains organized inventory and data entry of prescriptions.
  • Ensures accurate packaging and checks before carrier pickups.

Job description

Duties and Responsibilities

include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Mixes compounded preparations, fills bottles with prescribed tablets, capsules, creams, liquids, etc.
  • Works out problems associated with patients and doctors orders.
  • Answers the phone and communicates effectively with patients and prescribers.
  • Accesses patient information electronically and manually.
  • Cleans pharmacy and equipment in accordance with company standards.
  • Cleans up and maintains clean orderly workspaces.
  • Compounds capsules, creams, suspensions among many other non-sterile preparations.
  • Maintain an organized and updated inventory system for purchases, inventories and customer sales.
  • Types prescriptions into data entry system.
  • Helps file prescriptions and compounding lot information according to company procedures.
  • Checks packages in the pharmacy before carrier pickups to ensure correct material is being sent.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED);

Must be Certified Pharmacy Technician and registered with Texas State Board of Pharmacy

Language Ability:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Math Ability:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to solve any related mathematical information.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office. Training for the onsite compounding software is not required and will be given during training.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee could be exposed to fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock. However appropriate personal protective equipment and apparel along with appropriate training will help prevent exposure. The employee is occasionally exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and extreme heat (non-weather).

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
