Hephaestus Pharmacy in Florida seeks a Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician to join our on-site Doral facility. You will prepare sterile medications under pharmacist supervision, following USP 797/800 guidelines and SOPs, while maintaining strict aseptic technique.

Requires valid Pharmacy Technician license, experience with Pharmetika or similar systems, and USP 797 training. Will help build out the sterile compounding operation, manage inventory, and ensure compliance, quality, and timely

Responsabilidades

• Establish and test best practices for pharmacy workstreams to ensure efficient operations.
• Prepare compounded medications and specialty pharmaceuticals under supervision of a pharmacist, following procedures.
• Perform daily, weekly and monthly cleanroom suite support per SOPs.
• Document compounding activities according to SOPs and USP requirements.
• Report to the Pharmacist in Charge on issues in the lab.
• Complete training as required by USP 797.
• Fill, pack, and ship prescription orders per SOPs.

We are seeking sterile compounding technicians in the state of Florida to join our team and play a critical role in advancing our sterile compounding pharmacy initiatives. This role will be instrumental in establishing and managing a sterile compounding facility in Florida, ensuring the highest standards of quality, compliance, and operational excellence.

This position is located on-site at our facility in Doral, FL.

Position Overview

The Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician is responsible for the accurate preparation of sterile pharmaceutical compounds in compliance with USP <797>, USP <800> (as applicable), state Board of Pharmacy regulations, and internal standard operating procedures. This role supports pharmacists and clinical operations by ensuring the safe, precise, and timely compounding of sterile medications while maintaining strict aseptic technique and environmental controls.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the build-out, launch, and scale of our pharmacy from ground zero, contributing to its success and growth.
• Establish and test best practices for pharmacy workstreams to ensure efficient operations.
• Prepare compounded medications and specialty pharmaceuticals under the supervision of a pharmacist, following established procedures and safety protocols.
• Perform daily, weekly and monthly cleanroom suite support responsibilities according to facility SOP’s
• Document compounding related activities according to facility SOP’s and as required by USP 797
• Report to the Pharmacist in Charge on issues in the lab
• Completes training as required by USP 797

Day to Day duties of the position

• Compound sterile and on sterile medications
• Perform daily inventory counts, file paperwork, and stock inventory in sterile department
• Troubleshoot equipment and basic software issues
• Document compounding related activities and adhere to all QA responsibilities
• Create and foster a positive team dynamic
• Fill, pack, and ship prescription orders in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Required Qualifications

• Current Pharmacy Technician license or certification in good standing
• Experience with Pharmacy Management Systems (Pharmetika a plus)
• Three years experience working as a pharmacy technician
• USP 797 Training

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous warehouse or compounding pharmaceutical experience
• Familiarity with FDA, USP, or Board of Pharmacy standards
• Forklift or pallet jack experience (certification a plus)
• Pharmacy warehouse setting
• Exposure to refrigerated and controlled room temperature areas
• Moderate noise level typical of warehouse operations
• High level of regulatory oversight and documentation requirements

Physical Requirements

Employees must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, perform repetitive motions, work in temperature-controlled and refrigerated environments, and maintain attention to detail while handling pharmaceutical products in compliance with regulatory requirements.
