Saint Francis Healthcare System seeks a Sterile Compounding Coordinator to lead the organization’s sterile compounding program across locations, focusing on quality, safety, and regulatory readiness.

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Pharmacy degree from ACPE-accredited school or college of pharmacy is required.
  • Unrestricted Missouri pharmacist licensure required upon hire.
  • Minimum of three (3) years hospital pharmacy experience.
  • Minimum of two (2) years sterile compounding experience in acute care or health system setting.
  • Leadership, supervisory, or project management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the sterile compounding program across all locations, cleanrooms, shifts, and service lines.
  • Oversee the quality management system for compounded sterile preparations.
  • Ensure compliance with USP <797>, USP <800>, Missouri Board of Pharmacy, Joint Commission, and organizational policy.
  • Direct operational standards for IV-room workflow, cleanroom practices, environmental monitoring, training, and documentation.
  • Provide functional direction to pharmacists and pharmacy technicians engaged in sterile compounding; collaborate with stakeholders to advance safety and compliance.

The role leads the quality management system for compounded sterile preparations, promotes safe and reliable medication preparation, and ensures sustained compliance with organizational, regulatory, and accreditation requirements.The coordinator directs operational standards for IV-room workflow, cleanroom practices, environmental monitoring, training and competency, technology, documentation, and quality assurance in accordance with USP <797>, USP <800>, Missouri Board of Pharmacy requirements, The Joint Commission, other applicable accrediting bodies, and organizational policy.The coordinator serves as the department's subject matter expert and provides functional direction to pharmacists and pharmacy technicians engaged in sterile compounding. The role collaborates with Pharmacy leadership, Quality, Infection Prevention, Facilities, Environmental Services, Occupational Health, Nursing, Information Technology, and other stakeholders to advance safety, performance, and continuous regulatory readiness.JOB DETAILS AND REQUIREMENTSTime Type: Full Time, 80 hours per two-week pay period, with benefitsTypical Hours: Day ShiftEducation:- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE-accredited school or college of pharmacy- required- Doctor of Pharmacy degree- preferredLicense/Certification:Unrestricted pharmacist licensure in Missouri required upon hire.
