Responsibilities

  • Teach the STEM curriculum provided by Camp STEM Kids.
  • Review and understand each project before class.
  • Demonstrate projects and guide students through activities step-by-step.
  • Assist students with building and assembling STEM projects.
  • Work with basic tools and materials, including small screws, screwdrivers, wires, wheels, motors, circuits, and other STEM components.
  • Help students troubleshoot projects when something doesn't work.
  • Keep students engaged and maintain a positive, safe, and organized classroom environment.
  • Assist with classroom setup and cleanup.
  • Communicate professionally with Camp STEM Kids staff and school personnel

Part-time Onsite - $40/hour - 15 hours ago

Part-Time After-School STEM Instructor - $40/hour

Camp STEM Kids is seeking a dependable, energetic, patient, and hands-on STEM Instructor to lead an after-school STEM class at a school in Palm Beach Gardens.

Schedule: Thursdays
Class Time: 3:15 PM-4:15 PM
Pay: $40/hour
Commitment: Upcoming 8-week session followed by a 9-week session

Curriculum & STEM activities are provided.

The instructor will lead fun, hands-on STEM activities and guide students through building, experimenting, testing, troubleshooting, and problem-solving.

Responsibilities
  • Teach the STEM curriculum provided by Camp STEM Kids
  • Review and understand each project before class
  • Demonstrate projects and guide students through activities step-by-step
  • Assist students with building and assembling STEM projects

We're Looking For Someone Who
  • Genuinely loves working with children
  • Is patient, dependable, encouraging, and energetic
  • Is comfortable building and assembling hands-on projects
  • Can confidently use small tools such as screwdrivers
  • Can follow and teach a provided curriculum
  • Is willing to learn and practice projects before teaching them
  • Has reliable transportation to Palm Beach Gardens
  • Can consistently work Thursdays and commit to the full program sessions
  • Teaching, tutoring, childcare, STEM, engineering, technology, camp, or after-school program experience is preferred.

You do not need to be an engineer or certified STEM teacher. You do need to be comfortable learning the projects, working with basic tools, and confidently guiding children through hands-on activities.

Required Screening & Training

Because this position involves working directly with children, the selected candidate will be required to:

  • Successfully Complete All Required Background Screening/checks
  • Complete Sexual Abuse and Molestation (SAM) prevention training
  • Complete any additional child-safety requirements required by Camp STEM Kids or the participating school

Employment and continued placement are contingent upon successfully satisfying applicable screening and training requirements.

Compensation

$40 per hour

The upcoming program consists of an 8-week session followed by a 9-week session, with the potential for additional teaching opportunities with Camp STEM Kids.
