Job summary

Harvard University’s Ramanathan lab seeks a Research Assistant to perform scientific experiments in stem cell biology and human development. You will coordinate multiple project aspects and carry out lab work with minimal supervision, including cell culture and tissue generation.

The role involves collaboration with internal teams, training of new lab members, and contributions to data analysis and reporting. A one-year term appointment with 35 hours/week is expected.

Qualifications

• College or advanced degree in a related discipline; directly related work may substitute.
• 5+ years in a biological research setting, with human stem cell work preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates research projects and conducts laboratory experiments.
• Manufactures cortical tissue from multiple cell lines and maintains cultures.
• Performs genetic modifications and monitors differentiation.
• Supports tissue preparation for downstream analyses and sample shipments.
• Assists with data organization, analysis, and reporting results.
