Job summary

Thrive HR Consulting is seeking a Stainless Steel Project Manager in Owosso, MI. You will own projects from kickoff to final shipment and coordinate with engineering, purchasing, production, quality, and shipping to ensure on-time delivery.

You’ll read fabrication drawings and BOMs, manage schedules, and maintain close communication with customers. Experience with stainless steel fabrication and CAD tools is highly valued.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of project management in manufacturing or fabrication.
• Stainless-steel or sheet-metal fabrication experience preferred.
• Ability to read fabrication drawings, BOMs, and purchase orders.
• Strong scheduling, problem-solving, and customer communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Own stainless-steel fabrication projects from kickoff through final shipment.
• Build and manage project schedules, milestones, material requirements, and priorities.
• Work directly with customers throughout the project lifecycle.
• Partner with Engineering, Purchasing, Production, Quality, and Shipping.
• Identify problems before deadlines and keep customers informed.
• Coordinate ductwork, fittings, transitions, elbows, dampers, and other components.
• Influence production priorities and protect delivery commitments.

Our client is hiring a Stainless Steel Project Manager in Owosso.

We're looking for someone who understands that successful project management in manufacturing happens just as much on the shop floor as it does behind a computer.

This is a role where you'll have real ownership and real visibility.

You'll be the connection between:

And you'll have the opportunity to see the projects you manage become actual fabricated products.

You'll:

• Own stainless-steel fabrication projects from kickoff through final shipment
• Build and manage project schedules, milestones, material requirements, and priorities
• Work directly with customers throughout the project lifecycle
• Partner closely with Engineering, Purchasing, Production, Quality, and Shipping
• Help identify problems before they become missed deadlines
• Coordinate stainless-steel ductwork, fittings, transitions, elbows, dampers, and other fabricated components
• Influence production priorities and protect customer delivery commitments

WHO WOULD THRIVE HERE?

You're organized enough to manage multiple projects but technical enough to understand what is happening on the manufacturing floor.

Ideally, you'll bring:

• 5+ years of project management experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or a related industrial environment
• Stainless-steel or sheet-metal fabrication experience
• Working knowledge of welding, forming, rolling, and manufacturing processes
• The ability to read fabrication drawings, specifications, BOMs, and purchase orders
• Strong scheduling, problem-solving, and customer communication skills
• Experience with Excel, ERP/MRP systems, and AutoCAD

Experience with industrial stainless-steel ductwork, TIG welding, custom engineered-to-order manufacturing, or heavy industrial equipment is especially valuable.
