Job summary

D7 Pneumatics LLC seeks a skilled Millwright with welding capabilities to join our maintenance division for scheduled fall shutdowns. You will maintain, repair, and install industrial machinery across steel mills, sawmills, and automotive production lines.

The role requires strong troubleshooting, a solid understanding of mechanical systems, and the ability to work in a safety-focused environment, including confined spaces and extreme temperatures.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Millwright apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
• Previous industrial maintenance experience, preferably in steel mills, sawmills, and power plants.
• Strong welding experience (MIG, TIG, STICK) with ability to work with steel, stainless steel, etc.
• Deep understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic electrical systems.
• Ability to work in physically demanding environments, including confined spaces, high elevations, and extreme temperatures.
• Strong troubleshooting abilities with attention to detail and safety.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance, repair, and installation of industrial machinery across steel mills, sawmills, and auto plants.
• Perform welding (MIG/TIG/Stick) for repairs and fabrication; conduct welding inspections for quality and safety.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules to reduce downtime.
• Assist with installation, alignment, and commissioning of new equipment.
• Follow safety protocols and regulatory requirements to maintain a safe work environment.
• Collaborate with maintenance technicians, engineers, and management for efficient operations.

D7 Pneumatics LLC is seeking highly skilled and experienced Millwright with strong welding capabilities to join our maintenance division team for our scheduled fall shutdowns

This role will involve maintaining, repairing, and installing industrial machinery across steel mills. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in mechanical systems, a strong understanding of welding techniques, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintenance & Repairs: Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical equipment, conveyor systems, crushers, pumps, motors, gearboxes, and other industrial machinery in coal mining operations, sawmills, and auto plants.
• Welding & Fabrication: Perform welding (MIG, TIG, Stick) for repairs and fabrication of parts, structures, and equipment as needed. Conduct welding inspections to ensure high-quality, safe work.
• Preventative Maintenance: Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules to reduce downtime and extend the lifespan of machinery and equipment.
• Installation & Commissioning: Assist with the installation, alignment, and commissioning of new equipment in mining, sawmill, and automotive production lines.
• Safety & Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and work in compliance with regulatory requirements, ensuring that work areas are always safe and clean.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other maintenance technicians, engineers, and management to ensure efficient operations and quick resolution of mechanical issues.
• Problem Solving: Apply strong troubleshooting skills to identify mechanical failures and implement effective solutions.

Required Qualifications:

• Completion of a Millwright apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
• Previous experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in steel mills, sawmill, and power plants.
• Strong welding experience, particularly in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding, with the ability to work with a variety of materials (steel, stainless steel, etc.).
• Deep understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic electrical systems.
• Ability to work in physically demanding environments, including confined spaces, high elevations, and extreme temperatures. Must be capable of lifting heavy parts and materials as needed.
• Strong troubleshooting abilities with attention to detail and precision.
• Must adhere to all safety protocols and always demonstrate a commitment to a safe working environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in steel mills.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and electrical schematics.
• Experience in the installation and commissioning of heavy machinery.
