Job summary

D7 Pneumatics LLC is seeking a highly skilled Millwright with strong welding capabilities to join our maintenance division for scheduled fall shutdowns in the United States. The role involves maintaining, repairing, and installing industrial machinery across steel mills, with emphasis on welding (MIG, TIG, Stick), preventive maintenance, and strict safety standards.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Millwright apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
• Previous experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in steel mills, sawmills, and power plants.
• Strong welding experience, MIG, TIG, and Stick, with the ability to work with steel, stainless steel, etc.
• Deep understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance & Repairs: Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical equipment, conveyor systems, crushers, pumps, motors, gearboxes, and other industrial machinery.
• Welding & Fabrication: Perform MIG, TIG, and Stick welding for repairs and fabrication of parts and structures.
• Preventative Maintenance: Develop and implement maintenance schedules to reduce downtime and extend machinery life.
• Installation & Commissioning: Assist with installation, alignment, and commissioning of new equipment in mining, sawmill, and automotive lines.
• Safety & Compliance: Follow safety protocols and regulatory requirements to maintain a safe work area.
• Collaboration: Work with technicians, engineers, and management to ensure efficient operations.
• Problem Solving: Use troubleshooting to identify failures and implement effective solutions.

D7 Pneumatics LLC is seeking highly skilled and experienced Millwright with strong welding capabilities to join our maintenance division team for our scheduled fall shutdowns

This role will involve maintaining, repairing, and installing industrial machinery across steel mills. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in mechanical systems, a strong understanding of welding techniques, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintenance & Repairs: Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical equipment, conveyor systems, crushers, pumps, motors, gearboxes, and other industrial machinery in coal mining operations, sawmills, and auto plants.
• Welding & Fabrication: Perform welding (MIG, TIG, Stick) for repairs and fabrication of parts, structures, and equipment as needed. Conduct welding inspections to ensure high-quality, safe work.
• Preventative Maintenance: Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules to reduce downtime and extend the lifespan of machinery and equipment.
• Installation & Commissioning: Assist with the installation, alignment, and commissioning of new equipment in mining, sawmill, and automotive production lines.
• Safety & Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and work in compliance with regulatory requirements, ensuring that work areas are always safe and clean.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other maintenance technicians, engineers, and management to ensure efficient operations and quick resolution of mechanical issues.
• Problem Solving: Apply strong troubleshooting skills to identify mechanical failures and implement effective solutions.

Required Qualifications:

• Completion of a Millwright apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
• Previous experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in steel mills, sawmill, and power plants.
• Strong welding experience, particularly in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding, with the ability to work with a variety of materials (steel, stainless steel, etc.).
• Deep understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic electrical systems.
• Ability to work in physically demanding environments, including confined spaces, high elevations, and extreme temperatures. Must be capable of lifting heavy parts and materials as needed.
• Strong troubleshooting abilities with attention to detail and precision.
• Must adhere to all safety protocols and always demonstrate a commitment to a safe working environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in steel mills.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and electrical schematics.
• Experience in the installation and commissioning of heavy machinery.
