Job summary

Freedom Waterworks is seeking a Material Handler in Houston to feed production lines with required materials and keep shelves and yard organized. You will participate in receiving, storing, labeling, and distributing inventory for multiple jobs, while ensuring accuracy of heat numbers and specifications.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with 2 years’ related experience preferred, and strong communication, organization, and time-management skills.

Qualifications

• Candidates should demonstrate clear verbal communication and effective writing abilities.
• Strong organization and attention to detail are required for inventory control.
• Basic math skills for counting, weighing, and calculations are needed.
• Good time management helps meet shipping, receiving, and restock deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Receives, distributes, and stores products in designated locations.
• Prepares and maintains records of materials received and shipped.
• Moves materials using hand trucks or skids as needed.
• Maintains inventory levels and restocks material.
• Checks inventory against PO requisitions and ensures welders/fitters have materials.
• PULL and label inventory for jobs and ensure necessary materials are available.
• Ensure heat numbers, sizes, and specifications match inventory.
• Collect and dispose of scrap properly and maintain a safe, clean workplace.
• Organize the work floor and move material through shop processing.
• Distribute material for projects and communicate ship date expectations and test dates.
• Prepare material for welders (cut, grind, prep, etc.).
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
