Job summary

Dial’s Metal Works LLC is seeking an experienced Miscellaneous Steel Fabricator to join our team. We fabricate stairs, rails, ladders and other architectural steel for commercial and industrial projects, reading detailed drawings and fabricating from various steel shapes.

The role involves MIG and stick welding, using a range of fabrication tools, and maintaining quality and safety standards on site. Typical hours are full-time, with overtime possible.

Qualifications

• At least five years of miscellaneous or structural steel fabrication experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret detailed shop drawings.
• Strong layout, fitting and welding skills.
• Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds and work on your feet all day.
• Welding certifications are preferred but not required if able to pass in-house weld test.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate steel stairs, handrails, guardrails, ladders, platforms, canopies, bollards, gates, frames, columns, beams and other miscellaneous steel items.
• Read and understand shop drawings, erection drawings and construction plans.
• Accurately lay out, measure, cut, drill, cope, fit and weld steel components.
• Fabricate from square tubing, rectangular tubing, pipe, channel, angle, plate, bar, and structural shapes.
• Perform MIG primarily and stick welding as required.
• Use saws, ironworkers, plasma cutters, torches, grinders, drills and other fabrication equipment.
• Check completed work for correct dimensions, weld quality, fit and overall appearance.
• Prepare completed steel for painting, galvanizing or powder coating.
• Load and organize fabricated materials for delivery to job sites.
• Coordinate with project managers, supervisors and field crews to ensure materials are fabricated correctly and on schedule.
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area.
