Job summary

Harris Rebar in Belvidere, IL is seeking a shop worker to bend, cut, bundle and load reinforcing steel bars per customer orders. Light assembly and material handling tasks are required in a fast-paced, safety‑driven environment.

Candidates must pass a hair follicle drug screen, be legally able to work in the U.S., have a high school diploma or GED, and possess basic math skills. Overtime and multiple shifts may be available with PPE provided.

Qualifications

• Must pass hair follicle drug screen, including THC.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Must have a high school diploma, GED or local/state equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Bend, cut, bundle and load reinforcing steel bars per customer orders.
• Unload trailers and store material in storage bins.
• Operate a shearing machine to cut reinforcing steel bars to specific lengths.
• Operate a bending machine to bend reinforcing steel bars to specified shapes.
• Operate overhead crane to move, assemble and ship material.
• Assemble and load orders onto trailers for shipping.
• Maintain the shop or designated area in a clean and safe manner.
• Assist other employees in any of the above tasks.
