Job summary

Watco Transloading, LLC in Houston, TX, is hiring Steel Checkers with a starting pay rate of $19 per hour, DOE. Schedules include Day/Night shifts, 12-hour tours, at 14035 Industrial Rd., Houston, TX 77015.

Steel Checkers will verify cargo, use handheld scanners, and document cargo lot details while ensuring safety protocols and PPE usage at all times. Work involves inspecting cargo and supporting loading and export/import processes.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform essential duties and obtain required certifications as stated for this position and location.

Responsibilities

• Receives cargo to be exported.
• Assists with loading export cargo to vessels.
• Receives import cargo from vessels.
• Utilizes paperwork and handheld devices to inventory cargo.
• Verifies paperwork to match cargo being received or exported.
• Verifies cargo weights and dimensions to ensure safe operating conditions.
• Communicates with drivers, clerks, and warehouse personnel to coordinate logistics.
• Locates and verifies all cargo on load lists.
• Inspects and documents cargo condition prior to movement.
• Marks each piece of cargo accordingly.
