Job summary

Gulf Stream Marine, Inc. is seeking a TheChecker to accurately record cargo movements, including discharge, stowing, and loading to and from customer carriers. The role focuses on steel cargo such as pipe, tubing, coils, and flats and requires prior steel-experience.

An active TWIC card is required. The position involves outdoor work in a yard setting, counting and tallying cargo, and utilizing tablets and scanners for recordkeeping.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years shipping/receiving experience (warehouse/yard/stevedoring).
• At least 1 year direct experience handling steel cargo.

Responsibilities

• Count, inspect, sort, identify, and record storage locations for all discharged cargo (from vessels).
• Count, inspect, sort, identify, and record stow locations for all cargo being loaded onto vessels.
