Job summary

EDMO is seeking an Instructional Support Specialist to elevate instructional quality across all SCESD sites in Salinas. You will coach instructors, support site admins, and help implement STEAM and SEL programming with a focus on continuous improvement.

In this in-person role, you will lead hands-on training, align with Curriculum and Program teams, and drive professional development to strengthen classroom outcomes and educator success daily.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Sciences, or a related field, or 5+ years of experience in a related instructional support or coaching role.
• Experience in educational program support, including curriculum implementation, curriculum training, staff coaching, and classroom strategy.
• Familiarity with integrating DEIB practices into educational support and training.
• Experience working with youth-serving curriculum partners is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Deliver in-person training to Instructors on effective curriculum implementation, emphasizing classroom management, student engagement, and positive reinforcement strategies.
• Support Site Admin in developing instructional leadership skills, including observations and actionable feedback.
• Train Site Admin on implementation of weekly observation tools and feedback cycles.
• Conduct weekly coaching conversations and feedback cycles for all Instructors, focusing on growth and reflective practice.
