Job summary

The University of North Carolina at Greensboro seeks a Steam Plant Operator to observe and operate boilers, monitor the Computerized Boiler Control System, and ensure a continuous, safe steam supply to the campus around the clock. Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent with one year of related experience and a valid driver’s license; NIULPE 2nd Class license or equivalent is preferred.

Electrical controls experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with one year related experience, or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Requires certification.
• Valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Observe, monitor, and operate boilers (1x 40,000-pph and 3x 50,000-pph) and related boiler plant machinery.
• Operate the Computerized Boiler Control System.
• Perform corrective and preventive maintenance to ensure continuous steam supply to the campus, around the clock.
• Other duties as determined by the supervisor.
