Job summary

Torrance Memorial is seeking a Steam Engineer to operate and maintain boilers, chillers, pumps, HVAC systems, and related equipment across the medical center. You will ensure safe, efficient plant operations under the direction of the Manager, Plant Operations and Lead Steam Engineer.

The role requires a 500 Class or Unlimited Steam license, the ability to respond to emergency situations, and a track record of preventive maintenance and system inspections. On-call responsibilities may apply.

Qualifications

• 500 Class or Unlimited Steam license required.
• Experience in inspection, repair and replacement of plant systems.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment in emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Operates and maintains boilers, chillers, and related equipment to meet parameters.
• Participates in Code Red procedures and other code situations as directed.
• Maintains logs of all work performed during shifts.
• Inspects and maintains HVAC and auxiliary plants, water systems and equipment.
• Performs preventive maintenance inspections and repairs as needed.
