Job summary

The Reading School District in Reading, PA seeks a STEAM and Gifted Teacher to design and deliver integrated STEM and Gifted programming across grade levels, incorporating project-based learning, CS, and the engineering design process.

The teacher will support Gifted services, develop and monitor GIEPs, collaborate with administrators and specialists, and ensure compliance with gifted education laws. This is a full-time on-site role requiring 3+ years of teaching experience and PA Certification.

Responsibilities

• Design STEM programming that integrates into the appropriate grade-level curriculum.
• Deliver STEM instruction that is differentiated to meet the needs of a diverse population of students.
• Provide support and coaching to classroom teachers on the integration of STEM into the curriculum.
• Attend professional development as appropriate for the both the STEM and Gifted roles.
• Collaborate closely with School Leadership Team, Special Education Program Coordinators, Supervisor of K-12 Curriculum, and Director of Special Education to ensure seamless delivery of gifted education services in the school.
• Serve as liaison between gifted education and general education within the school building. Facilitate communication between administrators, teachers, staff, and parents/guardians in matters related to gifted education.
• Develop effective GIEPs that translate into measurable results for students.
• Monitor and respond to students' progress and course grades.
• Ensure all paperwork is in compliance with gifted education timelines.
• Ensure finalized gifted education documents are provided to parents/guardians.
• Provide gifted education case management for students on assigned caseload.
• Any other duties commensurate with the duties/responsibilities/grade of the post.
