Job summary

Housby in Des Moines, IA is seeking a Steam Bay Technician to clean and degrease commercial trucks, mixers, and heavy equipment before inspection or repair. This position supports production by ensuring equipment is production-ready and ready for VDA.

Essential duties include prioritizing vehicles, documenting status, and maintaining a clean, safe steam bay. Must possess a HS diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license, with 1+ year of related experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year of vehicle cleaning or similar manual labor preferred.
• Must be able to follow safety policies and work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize vehicles per schedule and complete cleaning before inspection or repair.
• Thoroughly degrease, wash, and clean areas for accurate condition identification.
• Report visible damage or safety concerns discovered during cleaning.
• Ensure units are clean and ready for VDA before releasing from the steam bay.
• Record unit entry/exit and update work status in the system.
