Job summary

Penn State University’s Department of Statistics seeks Undergraduate Teaching Assistants to support course grading and student learning. UTAs will grade assignments using faculty rubrics, assist with daily problems, quizzes, pre-lab tasks, and lab reports under supervision.

Preference given to students majoring or minoring in Statistics; applicants should have completed the courses they will grade, earned at least a B+ or better, and maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA.

Qualifications

• Must have taken the course they will grade and earned at least a B+ or better.
• Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; reliable and organized; excellent time management.

Responsibilities

• Grade assignments for a given class using a rubric provided by supervising faculty.
• Assist with daily problems, quizzes, pre-lab assignments, or laboratory reports as needed.
• Prefer candidates majoring or minoring in Statistics; responsibilities reviewed as needed.
