Virtual internships are potentially available. Statistics & Decision Sciences (SDS) is part of Global Development and partners across multidisciplinary teams to apply statistical reasoning, data science, and computing solutions to drug-development decisions. Our summer internships are available for graduate students and undergraduate students (through GD U.S. Summer Internship program; a separate posting) working towards a degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, or a related Quantitative discipline. In this role, students will make meaningful contributions to diverse Research & Development programs in immunology, oncology, neuroscience, cardiopulmonary or across the portfolio. They will support work across the drug development lifecycle - from drug discovery through Phase 2 and 3 clinical studies and pharmaceutical manufacturing - through activities such as data preparation, graphical data exploration, data visualization, statistical modeling and analysis, reproducible analytics, report writing, and development of computer programs or software applications that support study design and statistical analyses. Additional opportunities may include designing experiments, conducting simulations to evaluate and optimize study designs, and contributing to statistical methodology development. Each intern will complete one or more defined projects with guidance from experienced statisticians or computing scientists and participate in mentoring, networking, and professional-development activities.
